What we are and what we stand for.

 

tChermaja is Sanskrit for “Things made of leather”. India has a long history of leather usage, dating back to 3000 BC. Today India accounts for nearly 13% of world’s leather production.

tChermaja proudly sources its leather products from India. We have been part of the Indian leather industry for over 40 years. The love affair with leather started in early 80's Delhi, when founder and owner of tChermaja set up a small leather goods manufacturing unit. In 90’s we entered into the fast-emerging Leather footwear industry.

tChermaja set its roots in North America at the onset of the new millennium to bring quality leather products at reasonable price. A quick study of the market revealed US was flooded with low quality cheap Asian imports (not genuine leather) or very expensive European brand names.

This is just the beginning. In the next few years, we aim to become the most trusted brand in leather goods and make leather goods accessible across America.
